The journey began in 2005 when co-founders Pete and Monique Ethelston, along with Carl Pretorius, sought to create a caffeine-free alternative to coffee. They developed a method to grind rooibos tea finely enough to be brewed in espresso machines, resulting in a rich, full-bodied beverage with a crema similar to traditional espresso.
